Re:Swing

Privacy Policy for Re:Swing

Effective date: October 1, 2026
Last updated: October 1, 2026

The short version

Re:Swing does not collect your data. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of ours. It never uploads your video, and it does not send your information to us or to anyone else. Everything the app records stays on your iPhone, under your control.

The rest of this policy explains that in detail, and covers the few things that necessarily involve Apple rather than us.

1. Who we are

Re:Swing ("the app") is published by Wen, Yu-Wei ("I", "me", "my"), an individual developer based in Taiwan.

For any question about this policy or your privacy, contact me at support@reswing.app.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to the Re:Swing iOS app distributed through the Apple App Store, and to reswing.app if you visit it. It does not cover Apple's own services — the App Store, iCloud, or the Photos app — which are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

3. Information I collect

Through the app, I collect nothing.

I do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share any personal information about you. Specifically, the app does not:

There is no server of mine for your information to be sent to.

If you email me, I receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply to you. Mail to support@reswing.app reaches me through Cloudflare's email forwarding.

The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks, under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

4. What the app does on your device

The app works with several kinds of information on your iPhone, and only on your iPhone.

4.1 Camera

With your permission, Re:Swing uses your iPhone's camera to show a live view and to recognize when you have taken a swing. The camera image is analyzed on your device, as it happens, for that purpose alone.

Camera images are held only for the moment it takes to analyze them and are then discarded, except for the swing clips described below. No camera image is ever uploaded, transmitted, or made available to me or to anyone else. The app does not recognize faces and does not identify anyone — it only tells whether a person in view is moving in the shape of a golf swing.

While a swing is being recorded, the app also notes where the body's joints were in each frame it analyzed — points such as the shoulders, elbows, and wrists — so it can draw a skeleton over the replay. These points are kept with the clip, on your iPhone only, and are deleted with it.

You grant camera permission when you first use the app, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera, or in Settings → Re:Swing. Without camera access the app cannot record swings.

4.2 Swing clips

When the app recognizes a swing, it records a short video clip of it so you can replay it. Clips are temporary. They are stored privately within the app, are not visible to other apps, and are not backed up to iCloud. If you open the app again within two hours of your last swing, it offers to keep that session's clips; if you choose to start a new session, or open the app later than that, they are deleted. iOS may also clear them at any time when your iPhone needs space.

The only way a clip outlasts your session is if you deliberately save it.

4.3 Saving to your photo library

If you choose to save a swing — by tapping the save button, or by raising and holding your arm — Re:Swing adds that clip to your own photo library. This uses add-only permission, which lets the app add a video but gives it no ability to read, browse, or delete anything already in your library. I never see the clips you save. They are yours, in your library, subject to your own iCloud and backup settings.

You can withdraw this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos. The rest of the app continues to work; only saving stops.

4.4 Settings

Your choices in the app's settings, such as its language and sounds, are stored on your iPhone and are never sent anywhere.

4.5 Other people in the frame

The camera may capture people other than you — playing partners, coaches, or passers-by. Because nothing is uploaded and clips are deleted with their session, this creates no record on my side. You remain responsible for recording other people lawfully and with their agreement, particularly where filming is restricted, and for what you do with any clip you choose to save or share.

5. Free trial and purchases

Re:Swing is free to download and includes a free trial. An in-app purchase unlocks continued use.

All payment is handled entirely by Apple through App Store in-app purchase. I never see, receive, or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials. There is no checkout of mine, no payment page, and no billing system of mine.

To know whether you have purchased, the app checks your purchase status with Apple on your device.

To run the free trial, the app keeps a simple count of how many swings have been recorded. So that reinstalling the app does not restart the trial, this count is kept in your iPhone's Keychain (the secure storage iOS uses for passwords), and if you use iCloud Keychain, it is synced to your other devices through it. I have no access to it in either place. The count is just a number — it contains no personal information, is not linked to your identity, and is never sent to me.

Apple provides me with aggregate, anonymized sales and download reports. These say how many copies were sold in a country; they do not identify individual purchasers. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Third parties

Re:Swing contains no third-party software, no third-party services, and no advertising. I share information with no one, because I hold none.

The only company involved in the app is Apple, which distributes the app and processes purchases in its own right. The website and email forwarding are provided by Cloudflare (see section 3).

7. Children

Re:Swing is not directed at children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your country, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because the app collects nothing from any user of any age, there is nothing for me to identify, retain, or delete.

8. Data retention

Through the app, I retain nothing, because I receive nothing. Emails you send me are kept only as long as needed to answer them.

On your device: swing clips, and the skeleton points kept with them, are deleted when you start a new session, or when you open the app more than two hours after your last swing. Your settings and the free-trial count stay until you delete the app (the trial count stays even then, as described in section 5). Deleting the app removes everything else it stored. Clips you chose to save to your photo library are unaffected by deleting the app — they are yours to keep or delete in the Photos app.

9. Security

Because no data is sent anywhere or stored remotely, there is no remote store that could be breached. On your device, the app's files are protected by iOS and by your device passcode and encryption. I recommend keeping a passcode set and iOS up to date.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, or similar legislation — including rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict its processing.

I hold no personal information about you, so there is nothing for me to disclose, correct, port, or erase in response to such a request. You keep complete control over what is on your own device: you can revoke the camera and photo permissions, delete saved clips in the Photos app, and delete the app at any time.

Specifically:

If you are in the EEA or UK and believe your rights have been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. I would appreciate the chance to address it first at support@reswing.app.

11. Changes to this policy

If the app's handling of information changes — for example, if a future version adds an optional feature that requires an internet connection — I will update this policy and change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be described in the App Store release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
